I think I started this series at the beginning of this year and started the second wave series this fall. All the books capture you in the first few pages. All of the characters have unique abilities they use to protect their families, friends, and those around them that have no idea they even exist. They don't do this because they have to or have been told to. They do it because they need to protect the innocents and those weaker than themselves.

Grai is the youngest of their leaders, who in earlier books made himself vulnerable to the other leaders to gain their trust, alliance, and support. He has earned all their love and respect also. As a result he has been able to provide safety and security to their population and to the human friends that know of them and he is able to fight his father and brother's planned destruction of earth and it's people.

Not all, but some of the stories should be read in order and the author was kind enough to put that at the beginning of the specific book of you happen to start the wrong one first. They are all well thought out, fast paced, and if they happen to mention a legend, fairy tale, or scientific phenomena in her book she puts a blurb about it and web sites you can go to for more information that I love. It seems my brain is a bottomless pit for any and all kinds of trivia.😊

This is the story of Reven (the leader's best friend and head of security) and Jax, a girl that can talk to any animal or insect. Jax considers him a real hunk for someone old enough " to have fathered dirt" but she never planned to have a mate and doesn't plan to be "caught and tamed". Reven at first doesn't like her animal friends because he is usually on the receiving end of he happens to upset Jax. Two adorable little girls change all this when Reven and Jax rescue them and the girls decide to trust them, and choose them to be their new Mom and Dad . Their journey to create a family and find each other is amazing so plan to held in place until you reach the end.

I love this series! It is truly a story that has love, suspense and action galore. The ending in this story is a huge surprise! I also love the little extra chapters at the end. Please keep writing this series it is Awesome!
I chose 5 stars simply because I couldn't put this book down. I was so drawn into the lives of her characters that at times I found myself in tears with my heart aching, and at other times itching to go with them to kick some bad guy butts. I don't like when a story plot is given away so I will just call this book captivating and leave it at that.
I read these out of order, wish I had read Lara first. But, each book builds on the story, weaving a depth to the characters and the overall plot, with new twists coming up in each book. (Even the editing and punctuation is getting better.) Can't wait for the next book!
A good book to continue a GREAT series. I liked the book but just could not get into the characters as I did with the previous two.
I plan to re-read and see what happens the second go round. Still a great book to continue this series. This author has continued to grow and produce wonderful stories that keep you hopping.

Still a good read for me and I would be looking forward to the next book because it is a part of the series and the story is getting a lot interesting. I would have given this a low star point because I sort of dislike Jax and Reven's relationship. It kind of bored me after a while with their hot and cold attitudes. But the reason I gave it four instead of a two or one is that the kids in this book kind of saved this book, of how they survived and of course the other characters in the book that I love. Sorry, I guess this book is not one of the books in the series that I like based on the hero and heroine, they kind of annoyed me.
Jax was irritating for the first half of the book with her attitude toward Reven. Reven has an alpha personality but he truly loves Jax. The kids are so sweet and full of personality even the toddler. They learn of something evil in this book too.
I would've rated the book higher except I really disliked Jax. She was a total b*tch. She got angry at Reven for the stupidest reasons. Once or twice, fine. But it happened repeatedly. It got old quick. Reven had the patience of a saint. But that kind of scenario always makes me wonder why a 1000 year old alien would want such an immature mate. I did enjoy all of the supporting characters, especially the animals.
